James M. Finneran

BSEET, Purdue University

James M. Finneran has over forty years of experience in origin and cause investigations, product failure analysis, and electrical and electronic evaluations. A Purdue University graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Jim founded ElectroTek Consultants in 1995.

Throughout his career, Jim has given both depositions and trial testimony as an expert witness more than 150 times. He served on the NFPA 921 Technical Committee from 2004 through 2018 and taught as Lead Electrical Instructor at Fire Findings Laboratory for approximately 28 years.

James V. Miller

James V. Miller leads ElectroTek's forensic investigations, specializing in fire origin and cause determination and product failure analysis. With degrees in Industrial Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, and an Automotive Technician diploma, he holds IAAI-CFI, CFEI, and CVFI certifications.

James also served as a volunteer firefighter and Captain with Northeast Fire and EMS (2000–2018), giving him firsthand fire suppression experience that enhances his forensic analysis.
